Q. What
do I need to wear?
A.
You should wear clothes that you don’t mind getting
dirty. Jeans without holes, sturdy shoes
with good soles and a tee-shirt are best.
Q. What
do I need to bring with me?
A.
All we
require you to bring are 4 AA batteries and drinking
water. All other equipment is provided. (Don’t
forget the camera.)
Q. Do I
need a jacket?
A.
If you
are cold natured you may want to bring a light long
sleeve shirt (tee shirt), however a jacket is way
too much.
Q. Do the
tours run trough the week or are they only on
weekends.
A.
We run
tours any day of the week. Please remember that we
have to get a permit from the BLM so if you want to
go on the weekend we need to know by at least early
Friday.
Q. What
time are the cave tours?
A.
We book
trips around you. We will ask you what time you want
to go. As long as we are available YOU set the time
and date.
Q. I only
have two people that want to go, can I book a trip?
A.
Due to
the cost of insurance and the limited amount of
permits issued by the BLM we need at least four
people to book a trip.
Q. We
have a large group, can we go in together?
A.
We have a
limit of eight to a group. If there are more in your
group we have to split you into separate groups.
Q. How
hard physically are the tours?
A.
All of
our tours are physically demanding. You don’t have
to be an athlete but be aware that caving can be
strenuous. All of our tours goes through “Crystal
Crawl”, a 650 foot crawl space. As long as you can
crawl on your hands and knees you can do it. The
Crystal Crawl tour is our easiest trip. The Lake
Room tour is more intense and is for people who can
handle a strenuous hike. We do not race through the
tour so we get plenty of rest stops.
Q. Does
EcoServants work for the government?
A.
No,
EcoServants is a non profit organization that is
required to follow the rules and regulations of the
Bureau of Land Management, who manages the caves. We
must get a permit for each tour.
Q. Where
does the money from the tours go.
A.
The money from the cave tours goes to paying for our
office, tour guides and general
funds for EcoServants to continue our service to
Lincoln County.
