“TIME STOOD STILL! I brought my family to lovely Ruidoso, NM for our parents’ 40th anniversary. Along with a beautiful mountaintop cabin, many animal sightings and lots of fun, one of the most memorable activities was touring the caves of Fort Stanton, along with cavers John & Crystal , and their son Kamrin. The tour was not your average cave tour. This trip was a truly authentic experience, complete with climbing, tunneling and the use of headlamps, as the caves were not lit. We sat in the dark, crawled 650 feet and did a literal belly crawl through a space about 2 feet high. We had the chance to see very old graffiti from the 1800’s, along with cave drapery, stalactites, stalagmites and cave bacon! Not only do John and Crystal (and Ecoservants) give a great tour, with genuine care and comfort for their guests, but they also provide a host of charitable, environmentally and socially responsible and important knowledge and services to many, including children’s groups, etc. My family truly enjoyed this pure experience of descension into the earth. We came out of it very tired, but extremely accomplished. Thanks John & Crystal!”
